Human life is complicated. We struggle in our own ways with this complexity. Some of us yearn for more. Some of us feel guilt and confusion around how we were born into our blessings when we see the suffering born onto much of the world, or the pain of our neighbors. Some of us become overwhelmed by fear of that which we cannot control, which can lead us to self sabotaging choices which impact the health and contentment of that which we can. Some of us, like me, struggle with all these things. This struggle was part of the reason I began this study, to find inspiration in historical text and traditions, a seeking of putting more love into action. And although my first study of Tao Te Ching has not yet answered the question of the suffering many are born into, it does consistently remind me of what we are born from, what has been poured into every inch of our being. We are born from, and filled with UNIVERSAL LOVE, universal truth and completeness. In addition to continuing with this truth chpts 31-33 also reminds us that violence, and weapons, and aggression, of which we have seen so much, cover that which is hidden in our hearts, and that although those who use these means seek power, the real power is not in mastering others, but in mastering ourselves. It also reminds us that those who use means of harm will not in the end rejoice or be free, FOR THE WORK OF THE SOUL IS THE WORK OF LOVE. It shares with us that if we all can connect to and be centered in this truth, all things would be in harmony and “the law would be written in our hearts” It reminds us to know this truth within ourselves, to know that like the rivers flows into the sea, the Tao flows through and back to us, we must sit in quiet and open to it. My prayer is that I can connect to this truth in my soul, to feel its flow through me, and to open its flow through me to all those who seek its light and love. I wish the same for you! Blessing to you and thank you for joining me on this journey
